A 51-year-old repairman was shot to death on Thursday evening in the 3900 block of Summit Valley excursion.
Deputies responded to the shooting at about 6:35 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was doing work at a home when confronted by an unknown man, who then shot him.
A neighbor who doesn’t want to be identified said she spoke to the customer getting their A/C worked fixed. She will be referred to as Jane Doe in this article.
A customer said the repairman had just arrived at the home and did not start the work in addition.
“He (the repairman) went into the gate to find out what’s going on with the AC and then went out to get his stuff, his equipment, to start working on it,” said Doe. “That’s when he was shot.
ABC13 obtained exclusive video of the suspected gunman running from the scene shortly after the shooting on Summit Valley excursion around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The video shows HCSO deputies confronting that speculate about a block from the crime scene.
“The man fled the scene to a residence about a block away from where he entered a means that was unlocked,” said Greg Pinkins with HCSO Homicide Division. “That’s where deputies found him, confronted him. He took off on foot. Deputies lost him.”
Life Flight flew the repairman to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was distinct dead.
Officials searched for the speculate after it was reported that he entered an unlocked means about a block from the shooting scene.
“We’re all scared. We fear for our lives because the speculate has not been caught,” said Doe.
Deputies didn’t find him, but they described him as a Black man with an afro. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with the information “Glock” on the front, red sweatpants, and red slippers.
Investigators warn that anyone who encounters the speculate should not approach him but instead call 911 as he is considered armed and dangerous.
The reason behind the shooting is unknown at this time.
